a story of a second ending
for S & V
Another tornado passes, this time
leaving the house bare-boned.
Remnants of dreams long gone,
skin alone to keep her emptiness warm.
The family home came undone in April,
as the face of a golden Sun, turned cold.
Not one kiss goodbye, as her daughter
lay in pain counting her days.
And now finding their way through,
loved ones embrace memories made right.
Memories that don't include a listless soul
bottling waves of meandering affection.
Hoping it was a broken heart that was too much to bare,
the story we keep, will leave out the details.
Her ache now settling for rest made certain
under a tree planted without seeds.
Her daughter waiting, in its shadows.
